New Mexico Chapter November 2016 Newsletter Dear New Mexican Truckers, Hope you all are doing well on this fine autumn evening. As I sit here taking pen to paper I am looking out my picture window at a bright orange sunset. At times like these I am glad to be living in New Mexico where sights like these are common. It is time again for one of our business meetings and we have scheduled a meeting for Saturday morning November 12, 2016 at 8:30 AM. The place we have chosen to hold this breakfast meeting is the El Camino Dining Room at 6800 4th Street NW. Some of you older members might remember us having some meetings at this location in the past. The food is good and they have a quiet room in the back for meetings. We will be covering a lot of topics including; 1) The San Juan Mountains Chapter's Aztec Truck Show that was held in September. Joe will speak about this show and the trucks that were there. 2) The 2016 ATHS National Convention in Salem, Oregon. Joe was at that show also and he tells us that we missed a good turnout of neat trucks from the Northwest. Joe was there with Paul Beck and he got to see some of Paul's Washington treasures. Joe will give us a report about the show and if Paul is on hand we are pretty sure that he has some nice photos to share. Speaking of the Salem show those of us who are members of the national received a full color "Show Time" collectible booklet of all the trucks that were on hand. 3) At the present time Joe Rose is out of town on a trip up to the Northwest part of the country where he and his wife Anne are on a stern-wheeler boat trip up the Columbia River. I am pretty sure he will have some stories to tell us about the trip during our meeting. 4) Other miscellaneous topics will be discussed. Joe Rose also wanted me to say that he has a number of door prizes to give out at the meeting. And he also has some mementoes from Salem to give away. He also wanted me to mention that we will have an "open hood truck show" in the parking lot so bring your favorite truck to the meeting. At the present time half of our membership receives this newsletter by email. We would like to add more people to our email list so if you have an email address and want to receive your newsletter this way please pass on that information to Paul McLaughlin at our next meeting. Well truckers this is all our news for now so I'll bring this newsletter to a close. Like Joe I am off on a trip but I'll be back in time to see you at our next meeting. |
