Our last meeting was held on February 20, 2016 at the IHOP Restaurant on the north side of Paseo del Norte. President Joe Rose called the meeting to order at 8:50 AM and we covered a number of different subjects.
Joe Rose made a motion that we consider making a $50 memorial donation to the ATHS Library in Peter Well's name. This motion was passed and a check will be sent out. Paul McLaughlin gave a talk about collecting toy trucks and had a number of vintage toy trucks on display. Ken Mack talked about creating three member lists. List number one for the general membership would contain just names and telephone numbers for contact purposes. List number two would contain names, addresses and telephone numbers that members could use for contact purposes also. While list number three would contain names, telephone numbers and email addresses just for the officers of our chapter to use. Harry Misel spoke about the New Mexico Military Museum closing and if people wanted to see the vehicles to do so within the next week or so because the vehicles are going into storage until a proper facility can be found to display them again. Wayne Sottoway, our Treasurer, gave a Treasurer's Report that showed on this date that our bank balance stood at $607.00. Wayne also spoke about a benefit car show being put on for the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home at Tingley Coliseum on April 9, 2016. This show is being hosted by the GTO Club and the cost to enter a vehicle is $25 to $30. After the meeting Fred Bailey lead a group of us on our Adopt-A-Highway clean up program along Paseo del Norte. Thanks to all who helped out. Joe Rose and Paul Beck are going up to Salem, Oregon for the ATHS National Convention and Truck Show May 26-28, 2016 and were wondering if anyone else was planning on going. If so call Paul McLaughlin at (505) 296-2554 and I'll Pass the information along. Our next meeting will be held on April 2, 2016 at the Murphy's Mule Barn Restaurant on North 2nd Street (Above Alameda) starting at 8:30 AM. And we have been offered a field just north of the Mule Barn for our "Slow Gear Race" so get your trucks ready and bring them out for this competition which will happen after the meeting. Don't forget the Albuquerque Museum Car Show on May 15, 2016. We have had some nice displays at this show the past few years and let's try to have a better turn out for this year's show. Cost to enter a vehicle is still $10. Jim White sent us a notice about a free "Spring Cruise and Schmoose Car Show" happening at the Sonic Drive In at 5000 San Mateo Blvd NE on Sunday April 17, 2016 from 10:00 AM till 3:00 PM. All invited. Dues payments should be sent to Wayne Sottoway, Treasurer, 1320 Countryside Lane NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. Dues are still $10 per year. This is all our chapter news for now so we'll bring this newsletter to a close. Hope to see you all at our next meeting on April 2, 2016 at the Murphy's Mule Barn Restaurant. Dear New Mexican truckers,
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hope you all had some memorable holidays. Our first meeting of 2016 will be held on January 9, 2016 at the Mule Barn restaurant on N. 2nd St. just above Alameda. The meeting starts at 8:30 AM and we will be discussing a number of topics. Good evening and hope you are all doing well as we head towards this holiday season. Joe Rose asked me to remind you members who haven't paid your 2015 dues to contact Wayne Sottoway our Treasurer and make arrangements to bring your self up to date. Dues are still only $10 dollars per year and if you have a $20 dollar bill Wayne can credit you for your 2016 dues.
